Owner Handler Association Buckeye North
We promote the education of owner-handlers, experienced to inexperienced, in training their dogs in Obedience, Conformation and Rally.
About Us
In 1967 a group of dog fanciers recognized the need for an organization devoted to the education of the owner handler. The Owner Handler Association of America Inc. (OHA) boasts members in all fifty states, Canada and Puerto Rico who wear our distinctive pins in show rings everywhere. This emblem and the PHA emblem are the only ones the American Kennel Club allows an exhibitor to display in the ring.
The stated objective of the OHA:
-
Encourage and promote the sport of owner handling and training of purebred and mixed breeds
-
Encourage and promote sportsmanship among purebred and mixed dog fanciers
-
Communicate with and educate purebred and mixed dog fanciers
The Buckeye North Chapter (BNC), of OHA, provides the Northeastern Ohio purebred and mixed breed dog owners with an opportunity to train their dogs for the show ring as well as being good home companions. BNC also provides an educational forum on a variety of topics dealing the health and welfare of dogs.
Training classes offered include puppy socialization, conformation practice, beginners' obedience, intermediate obedience, and advanced obedience classes. We also offer AKC Canine Good Citizen, AKC Community Canine, and AKC Trick Dog testing.
Club meetings are an opportunity to join fellow dog loving owners and share experiences, achievements, guidance and knowledge about health and behavior of dogs.
