OHA Instructors

Paul has been an instructor for our obedience training classes since 1980. With 40+ years of experience, Paul has educated many novice and experienced owners that patience and commitment are key to establish their training goals.

In 1971 his first dog was a Doberman that he trained and obtained obedience titles with. He was asked to serve as an apprentice trainer and from there his passion grew. Paul has trained dogs not only in obedience but also Weight Pulling, Drug and Bomb Detection, Tracking, and Building Search. He attends dog training and behavioral seminars to further his education.

Sarah has been an instructor since she was a baby! Seriously, she has been involved in training dogs her whole life. Her love of dogs and passion for training are contagious in all of her classes. Sarah teaches our Rally classes, Rally Run Thrus, and our Puppy classes. She is also an evaluator for AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and AKC Trick Dog testing.

At age 13, Sarah showed in conformation at her first dog show. From there she was hooked! Sarah has competed, trained and titled in Obedience, Rally, Agility, Tracking, Scent Work, Barn Hunt, Lure Coursing and Herding. She attends training seminars regularly and believes that training our dogs makes them better companions.
